This course provides valuable skills and knowledge for fire safety, including the application of various firefighting equipment, such as portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels. The CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment course is a Nationally Accredited unit of competency, designed to train staff to understand the different types of portable extinguishers, various classes of fire, and how to control small uncomplicated fires using the correct equipment (fire extinguisher, a fire blanket or hose reel). Who should attend?
Work Health and Safety (WHS) is a recurrent topic in society, with education and training in fire safety being essential element of an effective emergency management plan.
All staff should complete a fire safety course as part of induction and general awareness training.
This course is designed for anyone who is required to respond to and confine small workplace emergencies (Fire Wardens), in accordance with relevant legislative, industry, organisational requirements, including WHS policies and procedures.
Delivery
This program requires participants to attend a 2-3 hour practical skills workshop and complete in class assessment activities.

This course is delivered on site (subject to suitability of practical fire component) or at Tactical’s training facility.

Nationally Accredited Certification on Completion
On successful completion of this course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment for CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack fire fighting equipment. Under the provisions of AS 3745-2010 refresher courses are to be completed every 2 years.

Fire Warden (Emergency Warden/Floor Warden/Area Warden)– Provides the minimum requirements for workplace emergency procedures and evacuation under the AS 3745-2010. Includes warden roles and responsibilities, planning and conducting evacuations, fire safety and prevention, fire classes, practical fire fighting with extinguishers and fire blankets, fire classes, initial response to critical incident, contacting emergency services, emergency codes and practical responses to emergency situations.
Chief Warden (Deputy Chief Warden)– Focuses on the actions to be taken by the emergency control organisation (ECO) and all occupants once an emergency occurs. It is designed to ensure an appropriate response to an emergency up to the arrival of the emergency services.
