AS 3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities
REALISM IN TRAININGThis skills-packed course goes beyond the requirements of Australian Standard 3745-2010 which provides the minimum requirements for workplace emergency procedures and evacuation. Chief and Deputy Chief Warden training deliveredby Tactical focuses on the actions to be taken by the emergency control organisation (ECO) and all occupants when an emergency occurs. It is designed to ensure an appropriate response to an emergency up to the arrival of the emergency services. Participants leave with the skills, knowledge and 'hands on' experience to prepare Chief Wardens with the confidence to take charge during a workplace emergency.

Who should attend?
Building Evacuation Officer... Chief or Deputy Chief Warden... Emergency Responder...
This course is suitable for all staff and occupants of any workplace who are required to make decisions about the safety of people during a workplace emergency or those persons who lead and/or communicate instructions to members of the ECO during emergencies.
The Chief/Deputy Chief Warden course covers all aspects of the Warden/floor Area Warden course plus the knowledge and skills to: prepare for workplace emergencies, apply command, control, and coordination aspects of workplace emergency procedures, control the response to emergency reports, signals, and warnings, coordinate reports and results of initial emergency response, incident planning and conducting evacuations as part of the emergency control organisation committee.
Delivery
The Chief Warden course is a one (1) day program delivered over approx. 8 hours. The session focuses on practical skills and completion of in class assessment activities.
Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable, with closed shoes, a hat and sun cream for protection.

This course is delivered on site (subject to suitability of practical fire component) or at Tactical’s training facility.

Nationally Accredited Certification on Completion
On successful completion of this course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment for the following units of competency:
- PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
- PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation
- CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack fire fighting equipment
Under the provisions of AS 3745-2010, refresher courses are to be completed every 2 years.

Fire Extinguisher (including Fire Blanket and Fire Hose Reel)– This course provides valuable skills and knowledge for fire safety, including the application of various firefighting equipment, such as portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels.
Fire Warden (Emergency Warden/Floor Warden/Area Warden)– Provides the minimum requirements for workplace emergency procedures and evacuation under the AS 3745-2010. Includes warden roles and responsibilities, planning and conducting evacuations, fire safety and prevention, fire classes, practical fire fighting with extinguishers and fire blankets, fire classes, initial response to critical incident, contacting emergency services, emergency codes and practical responses to emergency situations.
