Canine Skill Set
Guarding with a dog
This skills-based course fulfils the Security Agents licensing requirements for Guarding with a Dog.
(Note: for licensing individuals are also required to hold a current Certificate II in Security Operations).
The Canine skill set introduces you to the principles of canine management and handling with the support of comprehensive learner guides and assessment activities that are completed through self-paced external study. This is followed by practical skills based training sessions.
On completion, participants will have the necessary training to begin a career direction applicable to security canine handling for which industry contacts and referrals will be provided.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable to those who wish to apply for a Security Agent’s licence with the Guarding with a Dog endorsement. Please be aware that for licensing applicants are also required to hold a current Certificate II in Security Operations. For more information about licensing go to: www.cbs.sa.gov.au
Delivery
The Canine Skill Set includes two (2) face-to-face contact days that focus on practical skills. This course allows for an immediate start and includes external course readings and assessment activities.
Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable, with closed shoes, and bring along a hat and sun screen for outdoor components of the program.
Nationally Accredited Certification on Completion
On successful completion of this course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment for the following units of competency:
