CPP50619 Description
This is a qualification for security risk consultants who provide specialist advice on strategies to mitigate risk to people, property and assets including crowded places, as defined by Australia’s Strategy for Protecting Crowded Places from Terrorism (2017). Security risk consultants operating at this level work with a high level of autonomy to assess the current threat environment, assess risk management options, and prepare and implement security risk management plans and communication systems to respond to active threats.
Occupational titles may include:
- security risk specialist
- security consultant
- security policy analyst
- security strategist.

Who should do this training?
Individuals enrolling for this program must hold one of the following qualifications:
- CPP40707 Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, or
- CPP40719 Certificate IV in Security Management, or
- CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis

This course is comprised of 10 units of competency which are delivered using a combination of:
- Contact days
- Online Knowledge Questions
- Project based Assessment Tasks
Attendance requirements include 8-10-days of in-class training, followed by progress sessions that will be scheduled as required.
Participants are required to complete the online Knowledge Assessments prior to commencement of in-class training.
Participants are given up to 24 months to complete this qualification.
Course requirements
- A Unique Student Identifier [USI] usi.gov.au
- Completion of the CPP40707, or CPP40719, or CPP41519 qualifications.
- Completion of the pre-enrolment mandatory LLN assessment.
- High level digital communication skills [access to a computer or device for online learning].
- High level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Physical capability to participate in all practical exercises and realistic scenarios.
